Your Sound Is Waiting: Welcome to Petrucelli Official
Petrucelli Official began with a simple idea: the tools we use to make music should feel connected to the lives we actually live as players.
I have spent my life moving between the bandstand, the classroom, the practice room, the recording studio, the road, and the creative work behind every project. I am a saxophonist, composer, educator, author, and instrument designer, but those roles have never felt separate to me. They are all part of the same search.
The search for sound.
Petrucelli Official is an artist-owned instrument brand and creative studio built around the search for sound. It is a home for instruments, music, education, books, recordings, design, touring, and the behind-the-scenes work that turns an idea into something a player can actually hold, study, play, hear, and use.
At the center of this world is the belief that sound is personal. It is shaped by the music you love, the people you have learned from, the rooms you have played in, the horns you have carried, the mistakes you have made, the long nights on the road, and the small breakthroughs that happen when nobody else is listening.
Petrucelli Official exists to serve that process.
The instrument side of the brand begins with the Mark ONE line of saxophones: soprano, alto, tenor, and baritone instruments designed by and for working players. These horns are built for musicians who need response, character, reliability, and a real connection to their sound. They are not meant to sit behind glass. They are meant to be played in clubs, concert halls, rehearsal rooms, studios, churches, schools, jam sessions, and wherever else music has to happen.
The goal is not to imitate the past or chase trends. The goal is to build instruments with personality, consistency, and purpose. A great horn should invite you in. It should give you something back. It should make you want to play one more chorus, write one more phrase, practice one more hour, or finally chase the sound you have been hearing in your head.
But Petrucelli Official is not only an instrument company.
It is also a place for education. Lessons, books, practice materials, videos, and online resources will all live here as part of a larger commitment to helping players grow with clarity and intention. Progress in music is not random. It is built through time, sound, structure, curiosity, and honest work. Whether the subject is tone, time, technique, improvisation, repertoire, or the daily habits of becoming a stronger musician, the educational side of Petrucelli Official is designed to give players something useful, musical, and lasting.
Music is the source of all of this. In 2026, I will be releasing new live projects that document different sides of my work as a performer and bandleader, including The Endurance of Optimism, recorded live at Drift Lounge in Salt Lake City with Chris Kaukali and Jacob Porter, and Garden of the Angels, recorded live at Clement’s Place in Newark with Peter Park, Raul Reyes, and Gusten Rudolph. These recordings come from real rooms, real bands, and real musical moments. That matters to me.
Writing is part of the same world. Through Score Muse and related projects, I have spent years creating books and transcription materials that document the language of important improvisers and help musicians study sound from the inside out. Books, recordings, instruments, and lessons are different formats, but they all point toward the same thing: deeper contact with music.
And finally, Petrucelli Official is a place for the process itself.
That is what this Stories section is for.
Here, I will document the real work behind the brand: road stories, instrument development, design decisions, recording projects, lessons from the bandstand, conversations with players, notes from masterclasses, the evolution of the Mark ONE line, and the practical and creative choices that go into building something independently.
Some posts will be about music. Some will be about instruments. Some will be about travel, teaching, recording, practice, design, or the strange and beautiful life of trying to build something by hand in public. The point is to show the work honestly, not just the finished product.
Petrucelli Official is still growing. That is part of the excitement. The brand will continue to evolve as the instruments reach more players, as new recordings come out, as new books and lessons take shape, and as the community around the work continues to expand.
If you are here because you are looking for an instrument, welcome.
If you are here because you are studying music, welcome.
If you are here because you are curious about the process, the road, the recordings, the designs, the stories, or the sound, welcome.
This is the first note in a much larger conversation.
Your sound is waiting.
